Eat Portugal Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between Eat Portugal (“we”, “us”, “our”) and the traveller (“you”, “your”) for participation in any of our tours or experiences.

1. Booking and Payment
1.1 A booking is confirmed only when we receive a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total tour price and issue a written confirmation.
1.2 The remaining balance is due 6 weeks (42 days) before the tour departure date.
1.3 If the balance is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled and to retain your deposit.
1.4 All payments must be made in GBP via the methods stated on our invoice.

2. Cancellations by You
2.1 Deposits are non-refundable under any circumstances.
2.2 Cancellations received more than 6 weeks before departure will forfeit the deposit only.
2.3 Cancellations within 6 weeks of departure are fully non-refundable, as all arrangements will have been confirmed and paid to local suppliers.
2.4 You may transfer your booking to another person up to 14 days before departure, provided the new participant meets all tour requirements and any administrative costs are covered.

3. Cancellations or Changes by Us
3.1 We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a tour due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. natural disasters, civil unrest, pandemic restrictions, insufficient enrolment).
3.2 In the unlikely event of cancellation by us, you will be offered:
• a full refund of monies paid, or
• the option to transfer to another available tour.
3.3 We are not liable for additional costs such as flights, travel insurance, or visas purchased independently.
4. Insurance and Responsibility
4.1 Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all guests and must include medical coverage and trip cancellation/interruption.
4.2 Eat Portugal is not responsible for loss, injury, or damage to persons or property except where caused by our proven negligence.
4.3 You participate in all activities at your own risk and must comply with the guidance of your tour leader and local partners.

5. Health, Mobility and Dietary Requirements
5.1 You must inform us at the time of booking of any medical conditions, mobility issues, or dietary restrictions that may affect your participation.
5.2 We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee all preferences can be met.

6. Changes to Itinerary
6.1 We reserve the right to modify the itinerary due to weather, supplier availability, or other local conditions.
6.2 Any changes will be of equal or greater value and quality whenever possible.

7. Behaviour and Conduct
7.1 Respect for local culture, fellow guests, and hosts is essential.
7.2 We reserve the right to remove from a tour any participant whose behaviour is disruptive, offensive, or endangers others, without refund.

8. Liability and Jurisdiction
8.1 Our liability is limited to the total amount paid for your booking.
8.2 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

9. Acceptance of Terms
By paying your deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
